The Cost of College Essay Example for Free
The Cost of College Essay The expense to go to school is high, and has been ascending for a long time. The expense of school is excessively high, many individuals canââ¬â¢t manage the cost of it, and joblessness rates are out of this world. For what reason is the expense of school to such an extent? The best answer would be our economy. Our economy greatly affects the rising costs of everything, including school educational cost. Another factor impacting the cost of school is the interest for an advanced education, for a well-paying occupation is like never before. The issue of the expense of school right presently is that numerous individuals canââ¬â¢t bear to attend a university, and it places them paying off debtors despite the fact that it might be justified, despite all the trouble. Works Cited Adams, Caralee J. Mid-Income Students Incur Higher Debt. Instruction Week 29 August 2012. English, Ed. Drained of all pride: The High Price Of Higher Education: A College Degree Has Become An Indispensable Credential In Todayââ¬â¢s Workforce. In any case, With The Cost Of Postsecondary Education Soaring, A Degree Is Also Slipping Out Of Reach For More People. Whatââ¬â¢s Behind Tuition Inflation, And Can Its Trajectory Be Altered? EconSouth 2011: 6. Luhby, Tami. Is College Worth It? Professions and Colleges November 2000. ? Articles about College Tuition: The expense of school is rising, and has been ascending for a long time. Despite the fact that the costs can be pretty much relying upon what express the school is in, what qualification understudies plan on getting, and what sort of undergrads go to, the expenses are still high. At a private four-year school the complete expense would be over $40,000. At an open four-year school the expense would be more than $20,000. The expense to go to a two-year school would be more than $14,000. Most occupations expect representatives to have a type of degree. Despite the fact that the costs continue rising, an ever increasing number of individuals are heading off to college to show signs of improvement instruction, so they can find a well-paying line of work (English). Another issue with the significant expenses of school is the obligation that joins it. Of course, a few people get grants, and others have the cash they need, however a few people donââ¬â¢t. The individuals that donââ¬â¢t have enough cash or donââ¬â¢t get a grant that need or need to attend a university need to acquire the cash. Obtaining these a lot of cash causes a ton of obligation. Graduates can have a large number of dollars owing debtors. Obligation can cause numerous issues all through life. Since most alumni can't find a well-paying line of work directly out of school, they have issues taking care of the high measures of obligation (Adams). Others imagine that the expense of school ought not be an issue since it is justified, despite all the trouble. Setting off for college implies that graduates will have the option to show signs of improvement paying employment than they could without a degree. Having a superior activity will in the long run permit graduates to take care of credits and flourish in reality. Individuals who have a Doctorate or Professional degree procure somewhere in the range of $120,000 and $150,000 every year. Individuals who have a Masters or Bachelorââ¬â¢s qualification procure somewhere in the range of $80,000 and $95,000 every year. Individuals with just a secondary school instruction just win about $45,000, and individuals with not exactly a secondary school training just gain about $30,000. It is critical to have a vocation that will pay enough to carry on with a decent life and even help a family. Despite the fact that the expense of an advanced degree is ludicrously high, it is totally justified, despite all the trouble. Getting an advanced degree and having better openings for work to find a well-paying line of work helps individuals from multiple points of view for the duration of their lives (Luhby).

Recommend Analyze Range Of Plans And Budgets Roberta Finance Essay - Free Essay Example
Those are available to Roberta to enable her to monitor and control all of her business activities. Also to discuss the external and internal factors that may influence the establishment of Robertas plans and budgets. 2. Analyze the viability of an investment of an investment proposal: Will describe the proposal and the technique and will show that in-depth calculations of the viability of the investment plans available to her and also evaluate the impact of the proposals on the business and provide her with the best investment plan available for her at the end of this part. 3. Undertake research of two large public limited companies (PLC) and in that transport companies- with a view to understand the business better a performance audit of two companies have been taken and we also took the financial statements and other relevant information. We will also discuss the potential limitations of the analysis. Part 1 Roberta Kelly is currently going through the expansion period or we can say the business is growing rapidly and as the business is increasing the handling of the business is also getting tougher for Roberta. As she is the only one who has to stand there and solve all the problems t hat are coming up, though each of the business is having the manager but she fights with the problem herself. Whenever the business is in the growing period or in a starting period we actually plan things and we divide the work of the organizations into different departments. And where in which we need to recruit people. The range of plan that Roberta can look up to are as follows 1} to manage her financial data what she can do is she can create the departments within the organization and allocate the work accordingly to the department they belong. With the help of this the work would be distributed properly amongst the people and the organization and she can get the data of everything very quickly. In this case she need not take care of all the things. Like if she needs the information of the cash availability in the organization she can just ask it to the cash collection department and can see the available balance if she wants to see the sales of the company with in a peri od of time she can get that information from the sales department. Hence we will discuss all the departments that are necessary for her and the budgets that are necessary for Roberta to take care of her expanding business. A budget is an important tool of planning, controlling, motivation, and coordination. Budgets can help in Identifying the problems in business and promotes forward thinking by planning. A Distinction is made Between short-term planning and a long term planning, alternatively known as strategic or corporate Planning. There are number of purposes of budgeting, which include: 1. Planning 2. Coordination 3. Control 4. Communication 5. Resource Allocation 6. Motivation 7. Performance Evaluation BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION As we have noted, an organizations controller plays a vital role is designing and coordinating the budgeting process. A budget may have to go through many corrections and changes in it before it has the approval of the budget committee. Once the committee approves the budget the periodic report from all the different managers of the concern department will allow the committee to keep the eye on the companys progress and attaining budget targets. Successful budget implementation depends on two main factors clear communication and the support of the top management. In general, budgets can be classified into two primary categories (Cohen, Robbins, Young,1994, p. 171): 1) Operating budgets: Operating budgets consist of plans for all those activities that make up the normal operations of the firm. The main components of the firms operating budget include sales, Production, inventory, materials, labor, overheads and RD budgets. 2) Financial budgets: Financial budgets are u sed to control the financial aspects of the business. In effect, these budgets reveal the influence of the operating budgets on the firms financial position and earnings potential. They include a cash budget, capital expenditures budget and Performa balance sheet and income statement. Service revenue budgetO P E Service overhead budget Labour Budget Selling and administrative expense budgetR A T I N G Budgeted income statement F I N Cash budget Budgeted balance sheetA N C I A Capital expenditure budgetL James Oscar mckinsey 1922 budgetory control With the help of the above figure we can clearly understand how an organization does depends on the budgets. It is indeed very necessary to allocate the funds appropriately to all the departments in the organization. The normal departments that an organization need or have are the sales department, purchase department, collection department, research and develo pment, production department. And the budgets that are necessary for Roberta are the sales budget, production budget, capital expenditure budget, cash budget, administration budget, stock budget. The above mentioned are few budgets that are basically needed in any organization. The problem Roberta is facing in her organization is that the work is not being allocated properly and she has to handle each and every thing with oneself. And to solve this she has to create the departments and for them she has to design the budget and allocate funds accordingly. Let us now go ahead and see how these departments work 1} sales department- this department takes care of the sales and with the help of that we can see whether the business is making profits and are the sales are increasing or decreasing and will help us to take the necessary steps. Ex- with the help of this department the information of the sales of the company it would be easy for Roberta to pull it up and she can have the record of the sales of the company quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly. This will help her to improve the performance of its company. 2} Accounts department- in this department all the transactions that have taken place will have an entry and this department maintains all the records of the cash inflows and outflows. Incase if there is some problem in the organization with the payment made or payment received we can just contact this department and we will get the relevant information. In this the employees do not go to the Roberta and discuss this problem they can themselves cross check it with the accounts department. In this way Roberta is not being disturbed much with such small things. Ex- if Roberta has to see the balance sheet of the organization and check the performance of the organization. This department will provide her all the information. 3} Marketing department- this department takes cares of all the marketing plans that have being designed by the company for the particular year. This is one of the important departments as all the sales of the company depends directly or we can say it as indirectly on how we market our products and services. If we have marketed our products and services in a very good manner we can gain the goodwill and we can also increase our market share as the sales increase and the people are kept aware about the products that we offer to our customers and services which we render to our customers. This departments main job is to look onto our marketing strategies and how it is being affecting on our customers as well as our competitors. Ex- If the marketing strategy that has being approved and implemented to increase the performance of the company in the current year and is not performing well we can make it out with the help of this department and hence we can design another strategy and can implement it. We can also see the cost efficiency of the strategies and choose one amongst them which will give maxim um outputs with minimum inputs. OUTSOURCING OF WORK The other thing that the Roberta can do is she can outsource the work to some other company where the other company takes care of all the transactions on her companys behalf and she can concentrate on her own business and try expanding it. She can pay the nominal amount to other company and in return they will handle its business. The main thing over here is to look for the company which is very well known in the market and has goodwill in the market. Part 2 Capital investment may be considered to be a part of capital budgeting process. It involves both the selection of long-term investments and financing of them. And these 4 different methods of capital investment will surely help Roberta in understanding and can further plan if she wants to take the project or not. Below mentioned are the 4 different types of method of capital investment. They are as follows 1. Payback period. 2. Accounting rate of return {ARR}. 3. Internal rate of return {IRR}. 4. Net present value {NPV}. These methods helps us to know whether our money has been invested properly and can get the return on investment {ROI} with the desired time and with the help of these methods we will also be able to know which type of project is beneficial for our company for instance if we have 2 or more than 2 projects to invest in .with the help of these investment methods we can check the profitability of our organization in the near future and can measure the t hreats or benefits if we have any in long run and in the short run as well .. Now I will go in little depth of all the four methods and explain it individually which make a clear picture about how these methods are different from one another and which one is best suitable for the particular organization. 1. Payback period the number of years it takes the cash inflows from a capital investment project to equal the cash outflows {Corina Pentland, course material 2010} Payback period is measured in term of the net cash flows. We take the total cost of investment which we call it in a financial management language as capital. In this method our basic concern and the main information we need is to see the cash inflows and the cash out flows. In other words we see the amount that has been recovered in a particular year and how much more is yet to be recovered. If we have two or more than two projects we can measure when we can recover the amount invested in the project with the help of payback period and we can which of the two projects is beneficial of our organization and which one is suitable for us to invest our money into . THe earlier the payback period from the project or the business is supposed to be the better to invest into. And in the context of Roberta getting the proposal of overtaking its one of the suppliers business and the amount she is expected to invest in this project is 1300000 and as per the calculations done according t o the payback period method she will start making profits after fourth year and before the start of sixth year that is somewhere in fifth year. In fifth year she will get back her money that she has invested in the project. So according to me if Roberta has been thinking about the future and she is more concern about running the business and investing the money into that project in respect of the long run basis then it is good enough. Because whenever a business is been started the person who starts the business or the organization who starts the business knows very well that they cant get the immediate profits and they plan their strategies of the business accordingly and which helps them to serve better over a period of time . As per the question the Roberta had been approached by Sunil Patel to sell his transport maintenance business and he asked Roberta if she is interested in an acquisition. As the Initial Cost is being given à £1.3m and she is going to save à £200,000 per annum and Sunil has provided a five-year budget i.e. Year 1 à £80,000 Year 2 à £90,000 Year 3 à £100,000 Year 4 à £110,000 Year 5 à £120,000 Therefore as the Roberta is going to save à £200,000 per annum Then the cash flow for the five years is Years Cash Flow Cumm. C.F Year 0 1,300,000 1,300,000 Year 1 280,000 1,020,000 Year 2 290,000 730,000 Year 3 300,000 430,000 Year 4 310,000 120,000 Year 5 320,000 200,000 Therefore the Pay Back period is in the 5th year Cumm. Cash Flow is 200,000 If assume that cash=profit Average Profit = à £200,000/5 = à £40,000 Capital Employed = à £1,3 00,000 2. Accounting rate of return Accounting rate of return compares the profit of a project with the capital invested in it. {Corina Pentland course material 2010} The accounting rate of return is very much similar to ratios. The main benefit of using the accounting rate of return is that is very easy to understand and to calculate as well. In ARR we take all the installments and then calculate the profits i.e. average annual profit. In this all the cash flows are used and taken into consideration. The ARR mainly focuses on profit. And higher the ARR the higher are the profits of the organizations. The main disadvantage of ARR according to me is that it doesnt take the time value of money. Because money value depreciates over a period of time it always needs the return of the investment continuously for example if I would have saved the money 1000 GBP in 2000 and now if I take it out and spend that 1000 GBP on purchasing something I would get only few things when compared to the money if I have spend it in the year 2000 so what is happening here the value of money id depreciating. And in ARR it also doesnt take much of time into consideration and if Roberta is ready to invest her money for a long period of time then it is useful for her. As in the case mentioned Roberta doesnt have any other projects as an option if she wanted to invest in. if she had any then we could have calculated the ARR of both the projects and suggested her with the best one between the two . In this project the average annual profit according to the calculations made is 40000 and the calculated ARR percentage is 3.0769 and which may increase over a period of time. A.R.R = Average Profit/Capital Employed x 100 Average profit = 200,000/5 = 40,000 Therefore, A.R.R = 40,000/13, 00,000 x 100 = 0.0307692100 A.R.R = 3.0769% 3. Internal rate of return {IRR}- an alternative method of investment appraisal based on discounted net cash flow is known as internal rate of return. However, instead of discounting the expected net cash flows by a predetermined rate of return, the IRR method seeks to answer the following question: What r ate of return would be required in order to ensure that the total NPV equals the total initial cost? In theory, a rate of return that was lower than the entitys required rate of return would be rejected. In practice, however, the IRR would only be one factor to be taken into account in deciding whether to go ahead with the project or not. {Accounting for non-Accounting students 5th edition 2001 from J.R.DYSON pg no 409} The rate of return on an investment seeks to determine the rate of return needed to ensure PV equals the initial cost: NPV = 0. {Corina Pentland course material 2010}. The internal rate of return basically gives you the rough idea of the return that we get on our investment. But it helps you compare the data and which is very helpful for the organization. With the help of IRR we can take effective decisions for our organization. In this case we use more than two discount rates to get the better picture for our returns on our investment. This is called trial and error method. In the case of Roberta investing in the project and the project is expected to be 1,300,000. If the company expects the rate of return of 5%, the project will not be accepted as its NPV is negative however the required rate of return is 4%, the project will be accepted, because the NPV is positive. The project will be profitable provided that the company does not require a rate of return in excess of 4%. In this we assumed another different percentage and then we are going to calculate, I am going to take 4% difference. Years N.C.F 4% diff. P.V Year 1 à £ 280,000 0.962 269,360 Year 2 à £ 290,000 0.925 268,250 Year 3 à £ 300,000 0.889 266,700 Year 4 à £ 310,000 0.855 265,050 Year 5 à £ 320,000 0.822 263,040 Total 1,332,400 Less Cost 1,300,000 (32,400) I.R.R = +rate+ (+NPV/the two NPVs added together x range of rates) Therefore, I.R.R. = 4 + (32,400/32,400+5,200) x 1 = 4 + (32,400/37,600) x 1 = 4 + 0.861 x 1 I.R.R. = 4.861 4. Net present value {NPV} the Net present value method recognizes that cash received today is preferable to cash receivable sometime in the future. {Accounting for non-Accounting students 5th edition 2001 from J.R.DYSON pg no 407} In NPV method we calculate the annual net cash flows expected to arise from the project. With the help of NPV method we will be in a position to know whether the business is going to make profits with the given figures and the given time or not. And if the NPV is positive we can accept the project and can go ahead and invest the money in that project and if the NPV is negative then it risk investing in that project as it will not give to profits in the given period and you might have to wait for some more time. And NPV also undertakes the time value into consideration which is very beneficial for the organization. And in the above project Roberta should not take this project according to the NPV method the NPV is negative and she has to wait for the some more time to cover her invest and start earning the profits. Years N.C.F 5% diff. P.V Year 1 à £ 280,000 0.952 266,560 Year 2 à £ 290,000 0.907 263,030 Year 3 à £ 300,000 0.864 259,200 Year 4 à £ 310,000 0.823 255,130 Year 5 à £ 320,000 0.784 250,880 Total 1,294,800 Less cost 1,300,000 (5200) As per the N.P.V is (5200), which is not good for the company because it is negative. Company is not going to repay their cash in the 5-year period. According to the calculations net profit margin of British airways for 2009 is 4.46% and in 2008 it was 10.527%. As the economic recession that has hit many countries in the world UK is one of them and many business have being facing losses but it was not with the easy jet its net profit margin was not effected too much, in 2008 it was 4.6639% and in 2009 it was 2.051% . Both the companies have faced losses due to the economy slow down but easy jet managed to incur less losses than British airways. Liquidity ratios:- liquidity is the one of the key factor for any business. As the need of money may occur any time so the business owners should be in a positio n to get the money and should have the availability of money. The current ratio of British airways for 2009 is 0.566%and that of easy jet is 1.39% and the current ratio of British airways in 2008 it was 0.89% and that of easy jet is 1.54%. According to the percentages derived we can see that easy jet has more cash availability than British airways. Efficiency ratios: The British airways debtors turnover in 2009 was 21.51% but in 2008 it was 24.42% and the creditors turnover in 2009 was 113.49% which is too high and that of easy jet the debtors turnover ratios was 33.09% and their creditors 102.74%. If we make the comparison of the ratios of easy jet and British airways the ratios of easy jet are very good. Gearing ratios: The gearing ratios for British airways were 2.73% in 2009 and in 2008 it was 1.482%. And for easy jet it was 0.997 and 0.709. According to the ratios the British airways is highly geared and it would very difficult for them to borrow money from the potentia l market. And for the easy jet it is very good because they still have people and institutions in the market to borrow money from. Investment performance ratios: The earning per share ratio of British airways in 2009 was 32.6 per share and that of easy jet shares are 16.9 per share. The earnings per share ratio of British airways is good. But after the hit of economic slowdown the British airways were struck badly because the earning per share ratio for them in 2008 was 61.9 per share and that of easy jet shares it 19.8 per share . Hence the easy jet didnt got struck too badly in the economic slowdown and have managed to incur less losses. CONCLUSION Looking at the above profitability shets we can say that easy jets performance is better than the British Airways. Easy jet has a safer capital structure than British Airways. Both to creditors and the debtors it has a strong debt paying ability and low debt risk in the long run. British Airways can improve its ratio by reducing its long term borrowing. However, we should also be aware of the limitations of the ratio, such as price changing, window dressing, lack of qualitative information, etc and make adjustments necessary. REFLECTIVE STATEMENT From the above assignment of financial management given by Corina Pentland i have learned how to analyze the companys profitability and also how to use the accounting tools and techniques to analyze the profitable project suitable for the particular organization. It has being a wonderful experience to read various books of financial management to complete this assignment and have learned many things about accounting which i was not aware of.

The Black Death - 910 Words
In a time when God was everything, death came among the rich, poor, sinners, and religious people in western Europe. Could this be retribution for the peopleââ¬â¢s sins and God has a plan, or would this be the fatal disease that would lead people to question their faith in God? Giovanni Boccaccio saw first hand what the Black Death did to his country, how disease flooded throughout and death was inevitable. Everything was changing, people were losing faith, the preservation of food, and simple customs like burial rituals started to disappear. Health and Religion were the key factors in the changing and modernization of early western Europe, these reflect on the poor hygiene, social order, decline in old customs and faith issues that occurred in the late Medieval world. The Black Death had made its way to the west, people knew by the many signs of sickness that they would only have a couple of days left to live. The main symptom of the pestilence was a large tumor that would turn into black or gray spots around the body, which was ââ¬Å"an infallible token of approaching deathâ⬠. Longing for Love: A Comparative Essay Jack Ettlinger ENG4U1 Ms. Palka July 18, 2010. Longing For Love A Comparative Essay By Jack Ettlinger In the song I Just Havenââ¬â¢t Met You Yet (IJHMYY) written and composed by Michael Buble, themes such as love, optimism, and loneliness are all are evident. These themes are also found in the song Love Song For No One (LSFNO), written and composed by John Mayer, but optimism is replaced by pessimism. Both of these songs are about a man longing for love; however, in the first, the man is optimistic and hopeful, while in the second he is getting anxious and a little doubtful. The way that the themes are portrayed are both similar and different in that they are about love, optimism/pessimism and loneliness, but each song has differences on how the themes are viewed. In I Just Havenââ¬â¢t Met You Yet the theme of love is evident, of course, and the song focuses around it. Just by reading the lyrics you get a warm fuzzy feeling, and that is what love is supposed to bring. But what is love really? Is it one specific thing? Or is it just a nebulous word that is used to describe the feeling two people get when they think about each other or spend time together? Love is an enigma by itââ¬â¢s very nature; each and every person has his or her own opinion of what it is, and it may mean different things to each, but certainly, love is what Michael Buble is feeling and discussing in his song. If everyone interprets love differently than it is possible to also make someone angry or upset, as it does in Love Song For No One. In Love Song For No One love is embodied in a very different way than the way that Buble portrayed it. With Mayerââ¬â¢s song, he chose to go down the route that many people do when love is not going their way the route to sadness, frustration and impatience. The song focuses around these feelings. Even just the title captures what the songââ¬â¢s overall feeling is. This guy is simply getting tired of waiting and starting to believe that the girl of his dreams may never come. In literature, music and entertainment of all kinds, love is often accompanied with warm, happy feelings, but there can also be upset. It all really depends on the point of view or reference of the person who is speaking in the piece, whatever it may be. People who have not found the love they are looking for yet in their life are one of two things; optimistic or regretful. When you read the lyrics of LSFNO you donââ¬â¢t get a feeling of optimism. Regret fills your brain. You are left with the impression that love can be a bitch, because sometimes you donââ¬â¢t find it. The lyrics, ââ¬Å"Im tired of being alone, so hurry up and get here,â⬠really leaves the reader with a sense that he is not happy, but filled with despair. There is a line in the song that clearly states how he is feeling, ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m jaded, I hate it. â⬠That pretty much sums it up. The main theme in Bubleââ¬â¢s IJHMYY is love, but the undertone feeling of this love is one of optimism. Lines such as, ââ¬Å"I know that we can be so amazing,â⬠and ââ¬Å"I know someday that itll all turn outâ⬠make the reader understand that Buble is still on the hopeful side of love. He believes that it will happen for him, in fact he knows it. To him, love really is an issue of trust and Buble simply trusts that love and the girl of his dreams are coming for him. He just has to meet her first. Mayer is a pessimistic ââ¬Å"sad sackâ⬠in his song about love. The repeated chorus line ââ¬Å"Im tired of being alone, so hurry up and get hereâ⬠echoes his yearning. After all the crushes are faded, and all my wishful thinking was wrongâ⬠leaves the listener with the feeling that Mayer is unhappy, desolate and despondent. He needs love, but he really doubts that it is coming. His pessimistic attitude is overruling his belief that love will ever find him. The last theme to discuss is loneliness. So often, an artistââ¬â¢s life is reflected in their art, their so ngs. Mayer is a lonely guy; in his life he has gone from girl to girl, searching for loveâ⬠¦and that search and his lonely spirit is evident in his music, especially in Love Song For No One. Mayer says that he has been, ââ¬Å"searching all my days just to find you not sure who Im looking for,â⬠and the listener feels his exhaustion, sadness and most of all, his loneliness. In his song, Michael Buble is clearly lonely, but his loneliness in motivating him to persevere in his life, and to find the one that will complete him. The lyric ââ¬Å" I know someday that itll all turn out, youll make me work, so we can work to work it outâ⬠shows this. He knows that the love of his life is out there and that she is coming, and therefore his loneliness feels temporary. There is, in his mind, an end in sight. He understands that he has to be patient: ââ¬Å"I might have to wait, Ill never give up, I guess its half timing and the other halfs luck. â⬠Buble trusts that love is coming for him. He knows he wonââ¬â¢t have to be lonely for too long. The songs, I Just Havenââ¬â¢t Met you Yet, and Love Song For No One both focus on the theme of love, and at first glance, can be perceived as very similar. But by dissecting the lyrics and looking more closely at the undertones and messages of both songs, we find that they are actually almost opposite in their approach to the mystery of love. As an ending note, John Mayer is still girlfriend-less, while, as a true example of ââ¬Ëlife imitating art,â⬠Michael Buble is engaged to the beautiful model who played the girl of his dreams in the video for his hit song. I guess he really did meet her after all. I Just Havenââ¬â¢t Met You Yet-Lyrics Im not surprised, not everything lasts Ive broken my heart so many times, I stopped keeping track Talk myself in, I talk myself out I get all worked up, then I let myself down I tried so very hard not to lose it I came up with a million excuses I thought, I thought of every possibility And I know someday that itll all turn out Youll make me work, so we can work to work it out And I promise you, kid, that I give so much more than I get I just havent met you yet I might have to wait, Ill never give up I guess its half timing, and the other halfs luck Wherever you are, whenever its right Youll come out of nowhere and into my life And I know that we can be so amazing And, baby, your love is gonna change me And now I can see every possibility And somehow I know that itll all turn out Youll make me work, so we can work to work it out And I promise you, kid, I give so much more than I get I just havent met you yet They say alls fair In love and war But I wont need to fight it Well get it right and well be united And I know that we can be so amazing And being in your life is gonna change me And now I can see every single possibility And someday I know itll all turn out And Ill work to work it out Promise you, kid, Ill give more than I get Than I get, than I get, than I get Oh, you know itll all turn out And youll make me work so we can work to work it out And I promise you kid to give so much more than I get Yeah, I just havent met you yet I just havent met you yet Oh, promise you, kid To give so much more than I get I said love, love, love, love Love, love, love, love (I just havent met you yet) Love, love, love, love Love, love I just havent met you yet Love Song For No One-Lyrics Staying home alone on a Friday Flat on the floor looking back On old love Or lack thereof After all the crushes are faded And all my wishful thinking was wrong Im jaded I hate it Im tired of being alone So hurry up and get here So tired of being alone So hurry up and get here Get here Searching all my days just to find you Im not sure who Im looking for Ill know it When I see you Until then, Ill hide in my bedroom Staying up all night just to write A love song for no one Im tired of being alone So hurry up and get here So tired of being alone So hurry up and get here I could have met you in a sandbox I could have passed you on the sidewalk Could I have missed my chance And watched you walk away? Oh no way I could have met you in a sandbox I could have passed you on the sidewalk Could I have missed my chance And watched you walk away? Im tired of being alone So hurry up and get here Im so tired of being alone So hurry up and get here oh yeah Im tired of being alone So hurry up and get here Im so tired of being alone So hurry up and get here Youll be so good Youll be so good for me

Squid Essays - Squid, Megafauna, Giant Squid, Sea Monster, Tentacle
Squid Squid are wild and wonderful. They are believed to be remarkably intelligent because of their apparently complex communication system. They include the Vampire Squid, and the elusive and mysterious Giant Squid. I researched the Giant Squid which is the biggest animals in the sea. The giant squid lives in most of the world`s oceans and is among the biggest animals in the sea but it is rarely seen. It hunts smaller sea creatures but larger animals feed on it. It has inspired fantastic tales but the facts are even more fascinating than the ficiton. For over 2,000 years the giant squid has inspired fear, fascination, and fantastis stories. Encounters with this huge invertebrate have always been rare and distant. And only recently has there been scientific evidence to dispute the legends. Centuries ago, people invented explanations for what their astonished eyes saw. In 1500`s, when several large unfamiliar sea creatures were stranded in Norway, people decided they were ?gMermen?h. A merman is a giant squid. Until the 1880`s , the giant squid was thought to be a legend. But in 1888, a giant squid 57 feet long washed ashore on a New Zealand beach. It had tentacles 35 feet long, and its eyes were each larger than a dinner plate. (It is amazing!) One captured sperm whale regurgitated two 42 foot long tentacles in an aquarium, meaning the squid they came from was roughly 66 feet long, and weighed 85,000 pounds. Scientists do not know exactly where in the sea it lives, they have not been to study it alive. The giant squid can be up to 18m (59 ft), and their weight can be up to 900kg (1980lb,nearly 1ton). In addition, They were caught everywhere in the world, especially in the North of Atlantic. Scientists suspect giant squid live mostly at depth of 200 to 700, One of the giant squid found stranded on U.S. shores where in Washed ashore on Plum Island, Massachusetts, in 1980. It was the only third giant squid that they found stranded in U.S. shores. The total of specimen was 2.7m ( 9 ft) and the weight was 200 kg (440 lb).The giant squid eat mainly fishes and other squids, based on scientific analysis of the stomach contents of two giant specimens. Giant, menacing sea monsters have been written about for centuries. Sailors have told fantastic stories of being attacked by monsters with enormous flailing tentacles and huge, black menacing eyes . These stories probably originated from sightings of the largest marine invertebrate which is the giant squid. The giant squid have the ability to jet propel themselves through the water at 20 miles per hour, faster than most sailing ships of the past. As squid can also launch itself out of the water while moving at high speed , appearing to fly, which would be pretty unnerving to superstitious sailors on a whaling ship. In recently, a scientific expedition was launched to search the deepest oceans of the world for the elusive giant squid. Deep water manned and unmanned submarines will be used to try to find out more about the huge invertebrates. Perhaps there are still many things that we don?ft know about the squid, but the mystery of the sea monsters will soon be solved.

Impact of New Economic Policy 1991 Essays
Impact of New Economic Policy 1991 Essays Impact of New Economic Policy 1991 Essay Impact of New Economic Policy 1991 Essay Essay Topic: Claim of Policy Industrialization through import permutation and public sector production with accent on heavy industry has been a really of import aim of our planning for development. In peculiar an of import differentiation was made among industries to be developed entirely by the populace sector. those reserved for the private sector. and those unfastened to development by either or both sectors. The reforms of 1991 abolished industrial licensing. except in a few industries for locational grounds or for environmental considerations. and import licensing. except in the instance of most consumer goods. Restrictions under the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act were eased. Entry demands ( including bounds on equity engagement ) for foreign direct investing were relaxed. private ( domestic and foreign ) investing were allowed into sectors such as power which had been reserved for public sector investing merely. Disinvestment of equity in the populace sector was besides initiated. The reforms. by concentrating chiefly on the private sector and non turn toing the jobs of PSEs. have exacerbated them. Industry histories for 28 % of the GDP and use 14 % of the entire work force. [ 20 ] In absolute footings. India is 12th in the universe in footings of nominal mill end product. [ 77 ] The Indian industrial sector underwent important alterations as a consequence of the economic reforms of 1991. which removed import limitations. brought in foreign competition. led to denationalization of certain public sector industries. liberalized the FDI government. improved substructure and led to an enlargement in the production of fast traveling consumer goods. [ 78 ] Post-liberalization. the Indian private sector was faced with increasing domestic every bit good as foreign competition. including the menace of cheaper Chinese imports. It has since handled the alteration by squashing costs. revamping direction. and trusting on inexpensive labor and new engineering. However. this has besides reduced employment coevals even by smaller makers who earlier relied on comparatively labor-intensive procedures. [ Decision Over the decennaries. the Indian theoretical account of development has created what is called the double economic system. On the one manus an enclave of big urban industries based on modem engineering was created both in the private and public sectors. uhich rernain tied to foreign assistance and engineering. On the other manus. there was the remainder of the economic system of the hapless which was left to fend for itself. Iââ¬â¢he financial and trade systems were besides designed to enclave the economic system. rhe new economic policy will surely beef up this dichotomy and make something wasteful besides. which is evidently anti-poor. On behalf of the new industrial policy it is claimed that it will let go of the Indian industry from unneeded bureaucratic bonds by cut downing the n~lmber of clearances required from the Government. Chiefly. there are two concession~s: The proposed policy allows foreign investing up to 1 per cent to 100 per cent equity on automatic footing topic to some limitations on imports of capital goods. This grant is meant merely for the aliens or those who collaborate with Indian opposite numbers. In other words this proviso will beef up the clasp of the foreign companies on Indian Industry. I h e 2nd grant is for the Indian enterprisers and relates to technological imports. The policy provides no defence against inauspicious impact on the domestic capital goods industry. There is no selectivity in the policy I n the sense that import should non be allowed in those instances where domestic market is in a place to provide capital goods in equal measure and quality. There is no appropriate industry program with appropriate industrial mix. technological choice on the footing of precedences. 22 The sudden displacement from import permutation to export publicity misses both the co~nplementarity and the sequence. It besides misses the demand to take monolithic deformation: j. dependence and the ruptures between the two. The basic standard finding import permutation and taking industrial undertakings has so Ear aimed at salvaging foreign exchange in the short and average periods. Some projections were made for long-run foreign exchange demands but there was Small consideration given to the fact that short-tenn additions in ioreign exchange secured through puting up of all sorts of precedence every bit good as non-priority industries either for limited export or import permutation cnight lead to greater dependance on the universe market and foreign capital imd this push India into a more serious external fiscal crisis. Of class. non all industries set up were that sort. Quite a few. peculiarly the basic and natural stuff bring forthing undertakings. had long term good effects but a still larger figure did non fall in this class. Indeed. trust on foreign coaction and capital and engineering every bit good as universe market and universe monopolies have led both to greater dependance on exterior every bit good as greater and spread outing influence of external capital on Indian industry. peculiarly the new industries. which were set up with the professed intent of making economic independency. What came as an unintended effect of old policy will now be accentuated as a effect of N E I . ~ ~ The new policy is wholly soundless on employment. During the 1880ss. when the industrial growtli increased from five per cent to eight per cent. employment snaps uniformly declined in all. except in the services sector. Unemployment is no A ; going politically unacceptable and already taking to monolithic societal agitation. One expected of the Government to do a clear statement on the employment aim. peculiarly when there is traveling to be a monolithic displacement towards ask foring foreign capital which will be invested merely in capital- intensive industries. Modemisation and export publicity will escalate capital strength every bit good as import-intensity which is besides biased in favc~ur of capital and against labor. The agricultural sector of the economic system is adversely affected by the New Economic Policy. Our farming community is now at the clemency of transnational corporations. They were now confronting two types of jobs. On one side the cost of cultivation is increasing as a consequence of retreating subsidy by the authorities to farm inputs. and the other side they were non acquiring compensable monetary value for their merchandises. The disregard and jobs of a sector which provide support to more than 60 % of the population is black to the Indian economic system. Most of the agricultural harvests shows a worsening growing rate after the acceptance of the New Economic Policy. The economic or. more specifically fiscal crisis is non to the full independent. I t is linked. both as a cause and consequence with many other crisis. The whole society is caught with Inany fold societal paroxysms. The NEP is a despairing dip to rneet some immediate economic menaces. It may or may non win. It has positive facets which are welcome but there are many others which may intensify the crisis. If monolithic investing in the populace sector and import permutation failed to do lndia autonomous how can private sector. including foreign investors and export publicity achieve autonomy under imposed external restraints? So it is logical to reason that the way of the economic system has to alter. There ought to be paradigm displacements towards a more self reliant. sustainable and merely development theoretical account whose end will besides be fundamentally different: non more production of material richness but the creative activity of a new single and society- a contented comfortable community based on a set of values Gandhi propagated and worked for viz. . co-operation sharing engagement common authorization non-violence and peace prior to the mid-1960s India relied on imports and nutrient assistance to run into domestic demands. However. two old ages of terrible drouth in 1965 and 1966 convinced India to reform its agricultural policy. and that India could non trust on forei gn assistance and foreign imports for nutrient security. India adopted important policy reforms focused on the end of foodgrain autonomy. This ushered in Indiaââ¬â¢sGreen Revolution. It began with the determination to follow superior giving up. disease immune wheat assortments in combination with better farming cognition to better productiveness. India ranks 2nd worldwide in farm end product. Agriculture and allied sectors like forestry. logging and fishing accounted for 15. 7 % of the GDP in 2009ââ¬â10. employed 52. 1 % of the entire work force. and despite a steady diminution of its portion in the GDP. is still the largest economic sector and a important piece of the overall socio-economic development of India. [ 94 ] Outputs per unit country of all harvests have grown since 1950. due to the particular accent placed on agribusiness in the five-year programs and steady betterments in irrigation. engineering. application of modern agricultural patterns and proviso of agricultural recognition and subsidies since the Green Revolution in India. However. international comparings reveal the mean output in India is by and large 30 % to 50 % of the highest mean output in the universe. [ 95 ] Indian provinces Uttar Pradesh. Punjab. Haryana. Madhya Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh. Bihar. West Bengal. Gujarat and Maharashtra are cardinal agricultural lending provinces of India. India receives an mean one-year rainfall of 1. 208 millimeters ( 47. 6 in ) and a entire one-year precipitation of 4000 billion three-dimensional meters. with the entire utilisable H2O resources. including surface andgroundwater. amounting to 1123 billion three-dimensional meters.
